At Tutor Corps and Pacific Preparatory, we believe in the power of 1:1 education in order to support students holistically and inspire a love of learning, confidence, and self-advocacy. Our organization comprises three branches: our accredited homeschool Pacific Preparatory, our after-school tutoring program Tutor Corps, and our nonprofit scholarship program through the Tutor Corps Foundation. We strive to inspire a love of learning in students of all backgrounds and abilities and provide exceptional instruction in all K-12 subjects.
We are currently seeking instructors with expertise in the following areas:
Special Education & Structured Literacy Programs:
Instructors with advanced degrees and/or experience in special education (ex. Speech-Language Pathology, Educational Therapy, etc.)
Proficiency in structured literacy programs such as Wilson, Slingerland, and Orton-Gillingham
Computer Science:
Instructors for introductory through advanced levels, including but not limited to:
K-5 enrichment programs
AP-level computer science courses
Languages:
Mandarin – all proficiency levels
American Sign Language (ASL) – all proficiency levels
Japanese – all proficiency levels
Mental Health Experience:
Instructors with experience in social work, psychology, or related fields
Experience supporting youth facing challenges such as anxiety, depression, or other conditions impacting their education
In-Home Instruction:
Instructors willing to travel to students' homes throughout the Bay Area, with a focus on the South, East and North Bay regions
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking thoughtful, dedicated tutors who value creating meaningful relationships with their students. We take a holistic approach to our work, prioritizing social-emotional learning alongside academic achievement.
Instructors who work with us must have:
A minimum of one year of instructional experience, hold a bachelor’s degree, have superb written and verbal communication skills, and can confidently use Zoom and online teaching tools. Teaching credentials are a bonus but not required.
